How we started

As an experienced book keeper I noticed that my clients found accounting packages complex and often struggled adapting systems to suit the requirements of the self employed and small businesses. As a result it was common for many self employed (sole traders) and small businesses with basic accounting needs to pay relatively large fees to put together accounts and file basic tax returns. Of all of the functions the self employed or small business needs to get involved in, bookkeeping was the scariest and most likely to give the biggest headache!

What was needed was a simple, jargon free, logical and low cost system just for the self employed and small businesses. After further research and using my knowledge of the accounting issues that can affect small businesses and the self employed I set about solving the problem and ‘ta dah’ developed Adzuki.
